Anastasia Samusenko provided an assessment on the prospects of employees from Ford winning a dispute with their employer

97% of workers at the Ford Sollers factory in Vsevolozhsk agreed on the conditions for voluntary dismissal as proposed by the administration of the company. A remaining 30 people will be dismissed under the Labour Code at the initiative of the employer. At the same time, the employees’ main trade union continues to demand more favourable conditions, referring to the closure procedure of Ford’s production facilities in other countries.

According to Anastasia Samusenko, from the point of view of law, the chances of workers winning in the confrontation with the employer are small. “If Ford Sollers decides to follow the statutory procedure of dismissal, the largest amount of compensation that workers can receive is three times their average monthly earnings”, explained Anastasia to RBC Petersburg.
