Sergei Bakeshin has commented for RBC on the conflict of two defence enterprises

The Commercial Court of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region refused to approve PJSC Zvezda’s claim to declare null and void a contract with Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) on the manufacture of engines for small missile ships of project 22800 Karakurt.

“The court concluded that the contract was valid, and KMZ will be able to demand the performance of the contract by Zvezda. However, it is unlikely that Zvezda will now intensify cooperation with KMZ before the court decision in a second case; the St Petersburg manufacturer is likely to appeal the decision in order to prolong the litigation,” commented Sergei Bakeshin, Head of Dispute Resolution and Insolvency practice at Maxima Legal.
