Sergey Tarasevich has explained to EJ-Jurist Magazine the Bank of Russia’s position on certain securities and real estate transactions with residents from unfriendly countries

Specially EJ-Jurist Magazine, Sergey Tarasevich, Associate of Tax & Administrative Law practice at Maxima Legal, has analyzed the letter of the Bank of Russia dated 30.08.2022 № 010 31 4/8237. The document confirms the absence of the need to obtain permission for some transactions with securities and real estate with residents of unfriendly countries.

“The website of the Association of Russian Banks has published the Letter of the Bank of Russia dated 30.08.2022 No. 010 31 4/8237 “On the Application of the Official Explanation of the Bank of Russia dated 18.03.2022 No. 2-O “1 (hereinafter the Letter). The question arose as to the application of Clause 1.11 of the clarification indicated in the title of the letter in relation to the restrictions established by Presidential Decree No.81 of 01.03.2022 in relation to transactions with residents from unfriendly countries” – said Sergey Tarasevich.
