Winners were chosen in nine categories, including the Efficient IP Portfolio Management Strategy, the Best Strategy for the Protection of TM, the Best IT Protection Strategy, the Best Invention Protection Strategy, the Automation of Work with IP Objects, the Best Commercialization of IP Rights, the Most Effective Litigation and Claims Work, IP Disputes: 2021 Winner and the Best Innovative Project. Maxim Ali, Partner, Head of Intellectual Property and Information Technologies practice at Maxima Legal, was the guest of honour at the ceremony and awarded the winner in the “Best IT Protection Strategy” category, which was won by the MTS PJSC team.

“The department of a company that has taken on intellectual property issues has ambitious tasks. You need to be able to do everything at once: go into the internal processes of the company, understand even the technical nuances of IT product development, understand the legal specifics of the IT industry. And the hardest part is not to abandon your own know-how but systematically and consistently implement it within the company,” Maxim said in his speech to the winners.

The IP Russian Awards are designed to identify the best specialists in the field of intellectual property, to continuously promote best practices, and to identify organisations that have achieved success in the field of IP. The competition has been held since 2019 with the support of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent). The main objective of the IP Russian Awards is to raise the status of IP professionals in society.
