On December 8th Maxima Legal and Avalon Estate consulting company held a joint business breakfast on “Real Estate Market Review. Tax and legal aspects”. During the event, experts told about the results and trends of development of the St. Petersburg commercial real estate market as well as highlighted a number of key tax and legal risks that should be taken into account when buying, using and disposing property.

Nikita Deynega, Head of Tax and Administrative Law practice at Maxima Legal, outlined in his speech the impact of taxes on real estate transactions. In particular, the expert pointed out what should be taken into account when choosing a model of purchasing property. Besides, the expert gave examples of the most common tax violations with real estate and analysed the consequences of their occurrence.

Konstantin Boytsov, Head of Real Estate and Construction practice at Maxima Legal spoke about the legal risks of property transactions in case of seller’s bankruptcy. The expert explained to the participants of the event what deals are classed as suspicious or preferential deals and the consequences of invalidation of deals with property.
