Natalia Diatlova, Partner of Maxima Legal, took part in the IX St Petersburg International Legal Forum.

In 2019, the forum brought together over 5,000 representatives of various segments of the legal practice: attorneys, legal advisors, business consultants, as well as public authorities, academic schools, courts, notaries and international organizations, including the Hague Conference on Private International Law, UNCITRAL, the European Court of Human Rights, the Council of Europe Human Rights Directorate, the UN Office for Human Rights and WIPO. The 2019 International Law Firm’s business programme brought together discussions of practical problems in the legal sphere, issues of domestic and international law and difficulties faced by lawyers in the modern world. In total, more than 120 events took place within the Forum: discussions, lectures and presentations, talk shows and conferences.

Alexander Konovalov, Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, summed up the results of the Forum. “We believe that PMYF brings its benefits and results. As always, we say that the main result for us is the quality of discussions. But gradually, the Forum should become one of the well-known platforms for testing and presentation of analyses and new law enforcement technologies, new practices, and new technologies from new practices will be increasingly in demand in our ever-changing world. We hope that the second decade of the Legal Forum will be a breakthrough time in the period of this project existence. It is important that this is a constantly changing project, and a number of formats, which the Forum initially initiated, now work in a constantly operating year-round mode. <…> I hope that this will continue,” the minister concluded.

The next St Petersburg International Legal Forum (Forum X) will be an anniversary event and will be held from 19 to 23 May 2020.
