The Vot-tak.tv independent online journalistic project drew attention to the fact that banks have legal rights to block accounts of their private clients. For example, financial funds can be frozen without notification of their owner at the request of state authorities due to unpaid debts, for example, to the Federal Tax Service.

«However, a bank also has the right to delay the execution for seven working days if there are reasonable doubts about the authenticity of the execution document or the reliability of the received information,” Alina Kalinskova, junior associate at Maxima Legal, explained to the Vot-tak.tv .

In addition, the expert added that “a bank does not have a legal obligation to warn the client in advance about blocking the account to avoid situations of withdrawal of funds”.
