Natalia Diatlova, partner, Head of Maxima Legal’s international projects team, commented on a proposal made by the Russian Ministry of Finance to the Netherlands to revise the current tax agreement, in particular, to raise the dividend tax rate to 15%.

According to the expert, the proposed changes will not affect international business; the impact on Russian companies will be obscured by the importance of their presence on the global market and maintenance of an international trademark. The revision of the agreement may lead to restructuring of Russian companies, which will attract additional funds to the Russian Federation.
