The international rating agency, Legal 500, has presented the results of its research for 2019, which consolidated the position of Maxima Legal among the leaders of the Russian market in four areas.

Once again, Maxima Legal’s expertise in the field of commercial and corporate law and mergers and acquisitions was highly praised. According to the customer reviews cited in the study, key practice experts are commended for their excellent knowledge of the intricacies of relevant national and international legislation, promptness and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Editors of the rating have for a number of years included Maxima Legal among the best legal teams in the Public-Private Partnership and Infrastructure Projects area, emphasizing the complexity of the services provided as part of the practice: from corporate and tax structuring and conducting legal audits, to preparing concession agreements and advising on various aspects of investment, real estate and construction.

Maxima Legal also confirmed its status as a leading law firm providing legal support to private clients and their families on a wide range of issues, including structuring property, estate planning, personal investments, real estate transactions, securities, yachts and aircraft in Russia and abroad.

Maxima Legal has become one of the recommended legal advisers providing restructuring and insolvency services – notably being the only firm whose head office is not located in Moscow. The study’s respondents commented on the professionalism and character of the Head of the Practice, stating that Sergei Bakeshin is “one of the most attentive and experienced bankruptcy lawyers I know; he is always skillful in calculating the risks and prospects of success in each case, and is very convincing in courts.”

The Legal 500 is one of the most respected international legal ratings. The ratings are compiled by the British publishing corporation Legalease for various areas of law and is based on the results of numerous interviews with clients, as well as with leading players in the national and international legal services market.
