Anastasia Samusenko commented for Mashnews on the change of ownership of one of the largest timber processing plants in Karelia
One of the largest woodworking enterprises in Karelia – Solomensky timber plant – has changed its ownership. Until 25 February 2025, the owner of the enterprise was businessman Mikhail Pitkevich, owner of the group ‘ASPEC’. According to the Contour.Focus service, the timber plant is currently owned by ASPEK-Les LLC (owner Mikhail Pitkevich (99%)) and ASPEK Group LLC (owner Viktor Khoroshavtsev).
Anastasia Samusenko, Senior Associate at Maxima Legal, drew Mashnews’ attention to the fact that the timber plant was transferred into the possession of a company whose shares in the authorised capital have been pledged since 2023.
‘That is, the beneficiaries have essentially placed these assets under encumbrance (unless, of course, they were previously under a similar encumbrance). In that case, it can be assumed that this was done as a result of some arrangements with Sberbank regarding the parties‘ credit relations,’ the expert suggested.
