Dmitry Uryakin explained to Kommersant the specifics of selling seized property of a Ministry of Defence enterprise at auction
The Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) has put up for sale the seized property of the Russian Defence Ministry’s Main Military Construction Directorate No. 14. The auction sells the right to lease 2.1 hectares of land and buildings with a total area of more than 14 thousand square metres. The initial cost of the objects is RUB 296.2 mn. At the same time the total debt of the Main Military Construction Directorate No. 14 to creditors and the budget reaches RUB 178 bn.
Dmitry Uryakin, Senior Associate, Head of General Business Pratice at Maxima Legal, noted that the circle of potential claimants who are ready to buy seized property is not as wide as in the case of bankruptcy. ‘This is due to the impossibility to obtain from the auction organiser or bailiff all the information necessary to make a decision on participation in the auction. In addition, the land plot is designed to accommodate a military unit, which is a specific function’, Dmitry explained to Kommersant newspaper.
