Google LLC, the Russian subsidiary of the US Google, is in bankruptcy, and its total debt to creditors exceeds RUB 20 bn. After February 2022, Google-owned video hosting YouTube limited monetisation for Russian bloggers, and in the spring of 2023 it switched it off altogether. However, in autumn 2023, Rospatent received three trademark applications from Google mentioning the word “YouTube”.

“The trademarks that Google wants to register denote content monetisation tools for authors who post their videos on YouTube,” the Telecom Daily project quoted Maxima Legal`s Associate Kirill Katkov’s comment for Telesputnik magazine as saying.
