Maxim Ali spoke about copyright in broadcasting at an educational course as part of the “440 Hertz” Grand Orchestra Award

On June 15-17, the first educational course on broadcasting academic music “Philharmonia Online” was held at the St. Petersburg D.D. Shostakovich Academic Philharmonic. The series of seminars and workshops for representatives of regional philharmonic organizations included reports on peculiarities of Internet broadcasting, principles of working with musical scores online, mechanisms of promotion of concerts in social networks, etc.

Maxim Ali, Head of Intellectual Property and Information Law practice at Maxima Legal moderated the panel discussion devoted to copyright in the sphere of broadcasts. Experts discussed intellectual property issues in online concerts and other Internet broadcasts and court practice in related disputes.

The project “Philharmonia Online” is organized within the framework of this year’s “440 Hertz” Grand Orchestra Award. It is the first Russian orchestral prize to be awarded to domestic symphony ensembles whose concerts were streamed online in 2021. The president of the “440 Hertz” Grand Orchestra Award is Yury Temirkanov, USSR People’s Artist.
