On March 15, the St Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA) gathered the business community of the northern capital to sum up the legal results of last year. Natalia Diatlova, partner and the Head of the PPP practice at Maxima Legal, was among the lawyers invited to speak.

Natalia spoke about the key changes in the legislation governing public-private partnerships. In particular, the expert noted the active expansion of the PPP market due to the emergence of a legal framework allowing the conclusion of a concession agreement / PPP agreement in respect of information technology facilities, as well as providing an opportunity for federal state budget institutions to act as a concessor in respect of healthcare facilities.

“Today, in the area of PPPs, there is a tendency to move from large-scale projects that require high bank financing to smaller projects that can be implemented with the funds of private investors. I think that in the near future we will see a significant increase in the number of projects implemented on the basis of PPP principles,” summed up Natalia.
