Maxim Ali has commented for the Pravo.ru on dispute about the removal of an irrelevant review from a corporate website

The commercial Court of the Ural District confirmed a client’s right to demand the removal of a positive review from the website of a company for which it was given. In doing so, the court departed from a formal approach and used constitutional principles. In particular, the court recalled that the client has a constitutional right to freely change his or her opinion, and the moderator of the corporate website may not refuse to publish an amended review, or if this is impossible, to demand the removal of the original version.

The law does not directly regulate questions of removal of irrelevant information, this was used by the company that attracted new clients with the old letter, Maxim Ali, Head of IP/IT Practice at Maxima Legal has commented on the situation for the Pravo.ru. According to the expert, although there is no direct prohibition on the use of outdated information, it should not make the author an eternal “slave” of his review.
