Vedomosti, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Forbes, DTF, Championat.com and other media quoted Maxim Ali’s comment on the judicial defence of PlayStation brand in Russia
Key Russian media drew attention to Kommersant newspaper`s article about dozens of lawsuits filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), a Japanese company that produces PlayStation game consoles, against Russian individual entrepreneurs.
At the same time, the media also quoted Maxim Ali, Partner and Head of IP/IT practice at Maxima Legal, as commenting for Kommersant: suggesting that “the fight against counterfeiting may be important for Sony to maintain the company’s image”, as well as assessing the general activity of foreign rights holders in Russia – “disputes over intellectual property protection tend to follow the economic interests of companies, and the toxicity of the Russian market, unfortunately, has not disappeared anywhere”.
